Who Glorifies The Son?

Jesus replied, “If I glorify myself, my glory means nothing. My Father, whom you claim as your God, is the one who glorifies me.” John 8:54 NIV

I am sure that the Jewish leaders were frustrated that Jesus would not directly answer their questions. But they were thinking of earthly matters while Jesus was thinking of spiritual matters.

Jesus did not seek glory for Himself, but for the Father, the One who sent Him. This does not mean though that Jesus was not glorified. Jesus was glorified by the Father through His obedience to the Father and carrying out the perfect plan of the Heavenly Father. Through the ultimate sacrifice of His earthly life Christ was definitely glorified in providing salvation for all those who would turn to Him to be saved. All this is beyond the understanding of all those who have spiritually dead souls. We must share the Word that the Lord may work to awaken the souls of many that they might find salvation through the Lord.
