An Answer And Two Truths

I am not possessed by a demon,” said Jesus, “but I honor my Father and you dishonor me.” John 8:49 NIV

This time Jesus does answer a question which the Jews asked of Him, was He possessed by a demon. Of course. He was not possessed. Then Jesus goes on to reveal two other truths, the first being that He honors His Father, the Heavenly Father, and then He tells the leaders there that they dishonor Him, and in so doing also dishonor the Father. He tries to make the truth clear to these leaders of the Jewish people, but their minds and hearts are so closed to the truth that Jesus cannot get through to them.

 Things are no different today. Many have closed minds and hearts and will not allow Jesus to come in that He might provide salvation to them. We must continue to share the Good News. Hopefully more hearts will be touched, and more souls shall be saved.
