Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. John 8:35 NIV
What might we take away from this verse? One who is a slave, a slave to sin, who wishes to remain living in his sin and not show remorse and seek the Lord has no place in the family of God. They shall be cast out from the presence of God and have an eternal fate of utter torment. But one who belongs to the Son becomes a child of God and shall spend eternity and receive the inheritance of being in God’s presence forever. The Son is in heaven now, preparing a place for those who belong to Him and He is interceding for them before the Heavenly Father. He sacrificed that we might be saved and be with Him and the Father eternally!
