Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin.” John 8:34 NIV
Jesus saves us from slavery to sin. We will still be prone to sin as long as our physical bodies still exist, but that does not mean that sin controls our lives. The devil is quite deceitful and will trick us into being sinful. The question is what do we do with our sin? Do we just live our lives as a slave to it, just continuing to do it again and again, or do we have remorse over our sin and take it to the Lord and ask Him to forgive us and restore us to living according to His will? One who belongs to Christ will definitely feel remorse and will seek to be forgiven by the Lord and restored by Him.
