Where Is He?

Then they asked him, “Where is your father?” John 8:19a NIV

Why did the Pharisees ask Jesus this question? They knew where Jesus’ father was. They asked it to trap Him into saying that God was His Father, thus making Himself to be of God. They needed some “evidence” to accuse Him of blasphemy.

If the Pharisees spent just a little bit of time truly researching that of which Jesus spoke they would have known the truth of that which He said, but they were so adamant in their belief that Jesus was a false teacher, an impostor, that they never made an effort to discover the truth. So very sad that is.
