Then Jesus, still teaching in the temple courts, cried out, “Yes, you know me, and you know where I am from. I am not here on my own authority, but he who sent me is true. You do not know him, but I know him because I am from him and he sent me.” John 7:28-29 NIV

What a powerful statement by our Lord. First Jesus lets the crowd know that He realizes what they are thinking, that they know where He is from. Hardly do they know. Secondly, we see again that Christ seeks not glory for Himself, as He says He is not here of His own authority. Thirdly, the One for whom Christ seeks glory is the One who sent Him, the Heavenly Father. And the Heavenly Father is true. Fourth, those present do not know the Heavenly Father. They are not interested in what the Father has to say through His Son. Firth, Christ is from the Father. He and the Father are in one accord. Christ has always been with the Father and He was sent by the Father to bring the Good News to mankind.

Let the message of Christ from the Father always dwell within your heart and spirit. Let Christ reign over you!
