Not My Own Teaching

Jesus answered, “My teaching is not my own. It comes from the one who sent me. Anyone who chooses to do the will of God will find out whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak on my own. John 7:16-17 NIV

Jesus states here that He is not here to seek recognition for Himself. He is here to share the message given Him by the Heavenly Father. Jesus never sought for Himself. He sought those who belonged to the Father to be brought close to Him through His message and through His ultimate sacrifice, taking our sins unto Himself on the cross.

Anyone who seeks to do the will of the Father will know that Jesus is in accord with the Father and only does that which the Father gave Him to do. Jesus did not seek for Himself but only for the Heavenly Father.
