Exposing Evil Works

Therefore Jesus told them, “My time is not yet here; for you any time will do. The world cannot hate you, but it hates me because I testify that its works are evil. You go to the festival. I am not going up to this festival, because my time has not yet fully come.” John 7:6-8 NIV

I am quite confident that Jesus’ brothers did not understand what He meant in saying that His time had not yet fully come. But what might they have wondered about Him saying that the world hated Him for exposing that their deeds were evil? No one cares to have evil within them exposed that others might see it. Yet we all must come to realize that of our own it is evil that dwells within, desires of the flesh and of providing for self. It is only in losing our self and accepting Jesus Christ as our Savior that we can be forgiven of our sinful nature and brought to a new way of thinking and living. Just as Christ was hated, so are we who belong to Him. The world is at odds with that which we share, the Good News of Jesus Christ. Continue in serving the Lord and telling the world about Him!
