Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.” John 6:29 NIV

So, here we see that doing the work of God is believing in the One He sent. But what does it mean to believe in Jesus?

I believe God’s will is more than just believing that the Father sent the Son. We must truly know in our hearts that Jesus is our Savior, our mediator between the Father and ourselves. We must give our lives over to His care and let go of control. We must allow the Holy Spirit to indwell us and direct all that we do for the glory of God. We must share with others about Jesus Christ, who He is and what He has done in our lives. We must know that without Christ we would be lost and our lives would have no true meaning. Yes, I think that doing the work of God goes beyond just believing in Christ. Give all that you are to the Lord. Let the Holy Spirit indwell and direct your life. Do God’s work.
