In the covenant of marriage is most clearly seen the practical extent of the love of our Creator and Redeemer for each of us. The husband and wife are acutely aware of the hidden details about each other and tend often to those details like a smudge on the face or a shirttail or collar folded under or a little cut or bruise, or untrimmed nails, or countless other practical details that make up our daily lives. When we see that the other is attuned to these private little parts of our lives we get a glimpse into how attuned our God is to all the ingredients of our lives and the lives of all creatures. After all God is the One aware of each fallen sparrow and counts the number of hairs upon our heads. Are we aware of anyone else in our lives that would take the trouble to count the hairs upon our heads? The closest we can come to that degree of nurture and interest would be a loving loyal spouse or, perhaps, a ❤ caring mother.
If God knows you and me better than we know ourselves, it means that God knows better how to be me or you than we know how to be ourselves.  That also means that God might disagree with us about some of the things we think we need or don't need.
These three things are needed among others: that with the help of God's grace we would be open-minded and tenderhearted before Him, and that we may possess a teachable spirit, growing up into Him
Who is the head in every way and in all things.
We all have some growing up to do. We have grown but not in every way. We may have grown up but not in all things. We may have matured but not fully.
Out of love and for love's sake there's more room to progress in and for all of us. Part of the reason that so much of growth remains is that it is something we must do together and not off on our own. The way a body grows is in proportion to itself and in step with itself and with its Head.
