The Greatest Good in History

The greatest good in human history came out of the greatest evil ever perpetrated because it involved the sadistic torture and the brutal execution of the only totally innocent person that ever lived, the infinite God man, Jesus Christ. Mans depraved worst collided with God's Holy Best and the explosion was eternal life.  Because the One who was so brutalized and offended in the process is infinite, that made the offense of infinite proportions and thus incapable of being atoned for through mere finite human means. There had to be a Saviour.
As Goliath the giant died decapitated by his own sword which had been intended to slay young David, and as Haman the wicked prince was hung on his own gallows intended for hanging the righteous Mordecai, so the devil was destroyed by the very instrument he intended for the destruction of Jesus Christ, the Cross. That destruction of the devil is still being played out in human history and, in a sense, will continue for eternity when he is confined in hell itself. Death, that great swallower up of life will be swallowed up itself, reaping fully what it has sown.
As death happened immediately to Adam's spirit when he first sinned, but happened only progressively in his soul in the deterioration of the way he thought and what he thought about, and death only ultimately but inevitably touched his body hundreds of years later; so eternal life arrives and manifests immediately in the believing human spirit, but only progressively in the soul in a freshness of attitude in the way we think, feel and make choices, and then ultimately and inevitably in our mortal bodies when we will be raised and transformed forever into resurrection beings at the Last Day.
