Jesus said, “Have the people sit down.” There was plenty of grass in that place, and they sat down (about five thousand men were there). John 6:10 NIV

Did Jesus hear what Andrew had said? Of course He did. But now it was time for Him to take action. He already knew what He planned to do. There needed to be a semblance of order to the large crowd which had gathered, and so He asked the disciples to get the people to sit down in smaller sized groups. It would make feeding them go smoother.

Don’t be surprised if a response to a request to the Lord from you does not yield an answer which you expected. Just remember that the Lord is ever mindful of what you need and He will provide accordingly.
