To have our days be long in the best sense is to be able to fit a lot of experience and learning, and enjoyment into them. To have long days is to have full days, days that are full of life. If they are full of life that means they are also full of love. They are long enough for us to do all that we need to do, to be all that we want to be,  but also long enough for all that we long to do(excuse the pun.) To have long days in the best sense of the word is to have full days, complete days. And to have full days in the best sense is to have a full life.....an abundant life. There was One who came with the promise that we could have life and have it more abundantly. 
This doesn't mean necessarily that we are always doing extraordinary things in the sense of spectacular things. I read in the 72nd psalm of One who only does wondrous things, and I realized that I can be like that One by only doing wondrous (distinguished) things myself. How is it possible for me only to do wondrous things? It is possible if I look for God's hand and God's touch in all that I do, even the most mundane things, inviting and welcoming God into everything and anything about me. Add God to the ordinary and you have something and someone extraordinary. Of course it's also true that God is already there. What makes those things and people distinguished is experiencing them in the light of God.
