So, because Jesus was doing these things on the Sabbath, the Jewish leaders began to persecute him. John 5:16 NIV

Notice that the Jewish leaders did no inquiring of the miracle which Jesus performed. They just assumed that what He did was wrong and sought not an answer as to how He was able to perform it.

The persecution most likely was attempting to degrade His character and bringing to the attention of the people that this man disobeyed God’s law.

Do we seek the source of our spiritual healing, or just what it provides for us? Seek not the molding of the clay, but instead the potter.
