Lord God,

We give you thanks for the gift of our minds,

And the amazing things it allows us to do,

We thank you that we were not created as thoughtless creatures blindly following orders,

But that you have blessed us with the ability to think and reason and to know you,

But like every other part of us,

Our minds can be used as instruments of evil as well as good,

So Lord, as your Word teaches, please renew our minds according to your will,

So that we would no longer follow the thinking of this world,

Please help us to keep our focus on Christ,

In a world where we are encouraged to wholeheartedly seek after success and fulfilment,

Remind us that our time in this world is brief,

And teach us instead to set our minds on the treasures of heaven,

We pray that you would help us to think on things that are good and worthy to you,

And that inspire us to pursue godly living,

Please teach us to keep filling our minds with your Word,

And to constantly reflect on it as we go about our daily lives,

In a world where we are bombarded by endless information and ideas,

Please give us wisdom as we consider what media we are regularly consuming,

Help us to focus on books, movies, shows, social media content and other entertainment,

That promote wholesome thinking and living,

Rather than promote the vain and evil values of this world,

In a world where we are taught to think about our own happiness and wellbeing,

Please give us the humility to put others before ourselves and consider those in need,

Lord, you also warn us that in our world, many false teachers will try to lead us astray,

And some of them may even be preaching to us from the church pulpit,

We pray that as we examine all the teachings and ideas that are taught to us,

Teach us to constantly evaluate all things in light of the truth of your Word,

So that we might have the wisdom to turn away from all false teaching,

And continue to grow in the knowledge of Jesus,

We pray that from the moment we wake up each day to the moment we fall asleep,

May all of our thoughts be glorifying to you.
