Looking through the Old Testament accounts we see amazing manifestation of God's miracles. e.g, He made the Sun stand still, He parted the sea for the children of Israel to pass through, He miraculously fed the Israelites in the wilderness for forty days, when they complained about manna, the Lord God by His mighty hand stirred the wind to bring quails into their camp, also, their clothes and sandals never torn for those years in the wilderness... Amazing!
However, the greatest of God's power ever displayed in history was none of those in the Old Testament, rather, it was the power God manifested at the tomb of Joseph of Arimathaea when He single handedly raised Jesus from the dead.
How do I know this act was God's greatest power displayed?
Eph 1: 19 tells us so...
The Greek rendition of this verse makes this point very obvious. This is the first time in context that these three powerful words will be used together "exceeding" "greatness" and "power"
Eph. 1:19-20 reads "And what is the exceeding greatness of His power to us word who believe, according to the working of His mighty power, which He wrought in Christ, when He raised him from the dead. And set him at His own right hand in the heavenly places."
The word exceeding here is 'huperballo' which means (to throw beyond the usual mark, that is to surpass)
The second word I would like us to consider is greatness, it is the word 'megathos' in Greek, it means magnitude, greatness.
The third word is power, which is 'dunamis' in Greek. The English word dynamite was coined from it. 'Dunamis' means force, specifically miraculous power, ability, might, power, strength, mighty (wonderful) work.
Now with the above definitions in Eph. 1:19 alone, Apostle Paul through the Spirit explained to us, the magnitude of God's power that was demonstrated in the resurrection of Christ, so that we can comprehend it.
This exceeding greatness of God's power indeed brought an over and beyond result because not only did it raise our Lord Jesus from the dead, but we were also raised up together with Him. Every one who ever believed in Christ, and would later believe in Christ Jesus have been raised already through the one time demonstration of God's power in Jesus' resurrection.
This goes on to mean that the new creation is far above sin, principalities, powers, etc. By the virtue.of Jesus' resurrection he is also living the resurrected life by faith in Christ Jesus.
Hence, without Jesus' resurrection we would all still be dead in sin, and our faith would be futile.
Little wonder Apostle Paul said "But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen: And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain." 1Cor. 15:13-14
Now, the Bible reveals to us in Eph. 1:19-20 that we have that same power (according to the degree and measure with which God raised Christ) working in us, because we are born again. It has absolutely nothing to do with your stature, frame, how you feel or what people think about you... The truth is that God's power is working mightily in you, and if you can only believe and align your meditation in this reality, then you will perpetually walk in the miraculous.
The sharing of your faith is effective by the acknowledgement (epignosis) of every good in you in Christ Jesus. Peter knew this, instead of dipping his hand in his pocket to give the lame man at the beautiful gate money, he said "...such as I have give I thee, in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, get up and walk." It turned out what he believed he had was power in the name of Jesus.
How many times have you subconsciously denied the power of God at work in you by speaking contrary? Well, all I'm saying is be deliberate about who you are. If you are indeed righteous through Jesus' sacrifice then start saying and doing so. It's time to stop living subconsciously and start being deliberate. You don't have to feel the power, it's right there in you, God cannot lie.
I want you to confess to that right now, and mean it from your heart. Say with me "God's power is at work in mightily"
Remember, it is that same power that made you born again after you heard the gospel of your salvation, and it is the same power that is still sustaining you by faith.
To be continued
I call you blessed
