Hope of frogs, a hog and a spot on a log-

Oh! Where do I go when I'm broken Lord?...
Feeling failed and weary beyond repair

When renewal's
chance seems slim...
When I've allready done that ... been there

... Oh, transforming Lord I'm STILL hopeful,
yet my hope increasingly grows dim

For it's into this self inflicted, unrequited chasm,
in which I vainly spin

I'm so tired of trying to
sing "The thrill is gone "...
in a major key

I'm so tired of
the likes of a
Pinocchio in a mirror,
always eyeballing and poking
back at me

I'm so tired of being
a boiling potted bullfrog,
croaking through that thickening, sickening fog

I'm so tired of wondering ...
"Where is it Lord?
Where is MY magnificent joyous marsh?"

With those beautifully moonlit
cattails ...
against lilly pad's sweet song

full of many Jeremiahs knowing ...
it's THERE that they belong

AND Lord, I'm so tired ...
so very tired...
of my own self loathing HARSH!

But
Here I am again Lord
Even though I promised to
YOU, I'd stop.

Returning daily...
Like some kind of
prodigal pig wallowing in
my own pugnacious slop!

Through YOUR Grace Lord, may the ONLY time that
you cease to
hear from me
this pitiable dialogue ...
be when I FIND
my croaking spot
upon YOUR rapturous, loving, life affirming, "Joy to the world", log!
