While he was still on the way, his servants met him with the news that his boy was living. When he inquired as to the time when his son got better, they said to him, “Yesterday, at one in the afternoon, the fever left him.” Then the father realized that this was the exact time at which Jesus had said to him, “Your son will live.” So he and his whole household believed. John 4:51-53 NIV
Sometimes our prayers are answered quite quickly and in the way in which we have requested. Sometimes though it takes awhile and our prayer even though answered is not in the way we had hoped. Does the later case mean that Christ cared less about our request? Hardly I say. Sometimes Christ wishes to test our faith and our perseverance at prayer. Also, our request might not be the best answer to our prayer. Keep in mind that Christ can see that which we cannot. Yes, we must pray and persevere, but we must also trust that our prayer will be answered with what is truly the best answer for the involved situation. Trust that Christ knows that which we do not know. Believe that He has your best interest in mind, for that is the truth!
