In the storm, the battle, or any troubling circumstance, peace will prevail for the believer who looks through their eyes of faith beyond what they can see with their natural eyes. If your faith is in Christ, today is the day to start walking by faith all out, without reservation, learning more about, and wholeheartedly trusting and believing God's promises.
Surrounded by the enemy, Elisha's eyes of faith brought great peace. His servant's natural sight unleashed the enemy's greatest weapon, fear.
When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early in the morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. So he asked Elisha, "Oh, my master, what are we to do?" "Do not be afraid," Elisha answered, "for those who are with us are more than those who are with them." Then Elisha prayed, "O LORD, please open his eyes that he may see." And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw that the hills were full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. 2 Kings 6 15-17 BSB
Whatever we focus on grows in our minds; this is why God tells us to fix our eyes exclusively on Jesus and His promises, not on the enemy or our circumstances. When we do as God tells us, our minds are renewed to what Jesus says is true, our new identity in Christ and our eternal future with God. The only way to see in the spirit as Elisha did, is through a steadfast faith walk in God's promises. This focus alone allows a believer to walk in God's peace and power in any storm.
For we walk by faith, not by sight. 2 Cor 5:7 BSB
From God's view, victory is finished. He calls us to believe Him and not to let our hearts be troubled or afraid, to walk in His peace – John 14:27.
Imagine the peace Elisha's servant felt when he viewed his circumstances through the eyes of faith. What the servant saw is still true today. We are not left alone like sheep in the fire without a Shepherd. When Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were thrown into the fire, Jesus was there as He is today with us.
"But I see four men unbound, walking in the midst of the fire, and they are not hurt; and the appearance of the fourth is like a son of the gods." Dan 3:25b ESV
Fix your eyes of faith on Jesus, His promises and presence unreservedly, no matter how big a fit the enemy throws to distract you, and God's peace and power will become greater and more visible, overwhelming every circumstance.
Many more New Covenant Bible Studies HERE. Jesus poured out His blood for the New Covenant of grace and truth, replacing the Old Covenant law of Moses. Believers are exclusively under the New Covenant, the last will and testament of Jesus that began after the cross.
And in the same way He took the cup after they had eaten, saying, "This cup which is poured out for you is the new covenant in My blood.” Luke 22:20
