The Messiah Comes

The woman said, “I know that Messiah” (called Christ) “is coming. When he comes, he will explain everything to us.” Then Jesus declared, “I, the one speaking to you—I am he.” John 4:25-26 NIV

Although a Samaritan, this woman shows through knowing about the coming of Messiah that she does have some Jewish background. All the questions which the people had about service and worship to God would be answered by the Messiah. It is possible she may have even wondered if the man standing before could be the one they awaited.

Christ knew the heart of this woman, and how it was beginning to be enlightened by the conversation He had with her. He decides to reveal to her that He is the Messiah, the one of whom she had just spoken. He knew she had a heart that was now opening. Here was a soul which could be saved.

What has Christ revealed to you through Him speaking to you or through His actions for you? Do you truly know how much He loves you? Christ wants the best for you. See to it that you give yourself totally to Him!

Splendid and timeless example of the manner through which Christ reveals Himself to those who desire and seek. Through the OT, the Holy Spirit empowered the elected to great purpose and in these NT times, He leads the humble to Christ. Writers like you are a window into that blessed drawing of sincere hearts.
