Although I’ve had some very good days in my life,
The time has come for me to experience sorrow and strife.
It’s my time to feel hurt and pain,
And to feel as if I’m going completely insane
Because it seems that my prayers are going unheard;
And there seems to be no answer for me, not even in God’s word.
It’s my time to feel great distress in my heart
Because it seems as if I’ve been torn apart
From God, the joy and strength of my salvation;
And it’s time I feel that I’m lower than all creation.
It’s my time to hear the scandalizing of my name.
It’s my time to be brought before men in humility and shame.
It’s my time to suffer, and this time won’t be the last,
But because God is God, I’m confident that this too shall pass.
