SONG FOR MOTHERS

I’m singing a song for all Mothers
A ballad of heroes unsung
Especially for those never noticed
In times where such loud bells are rung

Their task is to breed independence
To do themselves out of a role
So many have served unsupported
Their service has taken its toll

The sisters have fought for their freedom
Their victory involved sacrifice
But all their careers and their power
May come at a terrible price……

…if we cannot treasure the value
Of service and giving of life
Of loving and teaching their children
To walk in this world full of strife

So join me in singing for Mothers
And ask that the Father will show
That no one gives life like a Mother
Creation has ordered it so
