"My little children lets us not love in word, neither in tongue, but in deed and in truth." I John 3:18.

The above quotation from the Holy Bible is an admonition from Apostle John, the beloved to all children of God. It is a guard against hypocracy and deceit. He knows well that the heart of man is deceitful above measure, even among the so called brethren in the Lord. Love is meant to be demonstrated anytime anywhere and by all means. Love has costs or prices to pay for it to be demonstrated. At the point of starting this piece, I remember clearly the story of two young sisters who were pupils of my school, a nursery and primary school. The older was between eight to ten years old while the younger was about six years old.

The duo happened to deserve punishment or a corrective measure for coming very late to school on that fateful day. To know the extent of the love that existed between them I asked, "Who should bear the corrective measure among you because I don't want to punish the two of you." I allowed them to determine among themselves and as individuals. After a few minutes, the older sister volunteered to bear the corrective measure of the two of them. Is this not a demonstration of love? Because of what she did, I forgave both.

Bearing the burden of another person is a show of God's love. "Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. I John 4:10-11. Love needs to be demonstrated in all forms. Every price must be paid.

This reminds me of a story by an eighty something (80+) years minister of God. His wife was seriously sick and did all within his means to take care of her. In the process, he lost his position as a Pastor in a big ministry where he was employed to work for the Lord. Yet, he did not relent in his effort to show his unflitching support for his dear wife. According to him, after a point when it seemed all hopes were lost, the man of God said, "I intreated the Lord to let me come home instead of my wife." The reply received was, "That does concern you."

Every reference to his wife in our discussion revealed that his heart-throb deserves the love he displayed to her. The woman was submissive, responsible, respectful, loving and caring. This ought to be so. It is an example of a Christian home. Loving goes beyond human weakness. It covers multitude of sins, it does not concentrate on identifying partner's mistakes and weakness. Let me reiterate it here that love is not a one-side affair. It takes two to tango. It must be exchange between two lovers.

A may kindle the fire by showing interest in B, B should not fail to reciprocate the good gesture from A if finally approved. A one - sided love affair is a crippled one. It cannot fly at all not to talk of flying far or high. Watch! As at the time of writing this article, Corona Virus is on rampage worldwide, God will save us. One of the common methods of avoiding the menace is "washing of hands with water. Many government agencies or establishments are drumming it into the hears of their citizens to wash hands with soap and water. Do you not commend them? That is right.

The question now is,"Do the governments provide adequate water for their citizens?" Where and when they fail to do this, where do they expect their people to get the needed water to wash their hands. Do they love their fellow - country men and women? Is that their own way to show their love? This is very common in African countries and part of Asian countries as well as other developing nations of the world. Have government in such nations not delivered their people into the hands of Corona Virus? Stay blessed and prepared for coming of the Lord.
