Grief

FOR THOSE WHO CRY

It’s OK to walk through your journey of grief
It’s OK to weep till your tears bring relief
At times feeling anger and shaking your fist
At times feeling shame for the things that you missed
You may feel so cheated of all that you mourn
You may even question the time you were born

In deepest of valleys you seem so alone
The silence so deafening you can’t even groan
Yet deep in the darkness God always plants stars
And He can be found still behind prison bars
The seeking and finding Him brings such release
Surrender to His plan will bring perfect peace

For after a Winter there’s always a Spring
With new warmth and new life and new songs to sing
So in deepest darkness be ready for dawn
For after a labour new life can be born
The God of Creation has written the plan
To bring the best healing as only He can

God’s perfect Creation was marred by our sin
And we can’t be whole till we let Him back in
And after Good Friday and then one more day
Came new resurrection and first Easter Day
So in darkest night trust and wait for the sun
For resting in Christ is a victory won
