INTRODUCTION:
    “I covet your prayers”--the natural request from a Prayer and Encouragement Coach--simply means that I need prayer from each of you as much--or more than--you need prayer from me.  In order for you to be a powerful Prayer and Encouragement Coach with your co-workers in your assigned area of life, prayer is essential!  What may be happening around us should not impact upon our commitment to prayer and encouragement, nor receiving the same.  Never get too proud to receive or request prayer.

    Being a Prayer and Encouragement Coach IS an honor, and a labor of love.  However, we are NOT to ‘force’ prayer or encouragement on anyone.  There ARE some in our workplaces and neighborhoods who are FOR prayer, but AGAINST Jesus Christ and the Bible.  They can be won by encouragement!  That person may be against prayer, but NOT be against a kind word, a thoughtful deed, or a shoulder to cry on.  THAT’S why I linked Prayer and Encouragement together under the banner of coaching!  Sometimes, one has to demonstrate one, to display the other.

PRAYER--THE REALITIES:
    The Prayer and Encouragement Coach should use WISDOM in their daily walk in their workplace (James 1:5 KJV).  There are going to be people who are going to be honestly seeking prayer, mixed with those who are honestly going to try to ‘trick’ you into crossing the line into proselytizing outside of the realm of “breaks, lunch hour, downtime”, and--further--those who actually HATE prayer and are proud of living in their sin(s).  Handle with a touch of ‘grace salt’ and you shall emerge with the victory.  Remember: “The spirit of Prayer is more precious that treasures of gold and silver”. --John Bunyan.  Discernment is NOT just an ‘accident’ of faith, but a much needed tool.

ENCOURAGEMENT--THE JOYS:
    The Book of Ruth is the answer to the complaint that the KJV Bible does not address women’s issues.  In Chapter 2, we continue with the adventures of Ruth and Naomi.  They arrive in her home village; Ruth has left her pagan people for a life among the believing Jews and Naomi is coming home empty after suffering setback after setback and wondering IF God is real.  However, this chapter is one of uplifting encouragement in that Naomi rekindles that ‘spark’ from God that is within her, and spends her time working on teaching Ruth, her daughter-in-law how to be obedient in the blessing that is soon to come to her in a NEW husband; the rich and powerful and godly Boaz, a mighty man of wealth!

GETTING IT TOGETHER--THE P.A.E.C. WAY:
    *Build your own praise calendar: Take some scriptures from the Psalms and set them on your desk calendar.  Thus, each day you come to work--whether it be from home, office, or shop--you have a fresh scripture before your eyes to get your furnace fueled.
    *Great free resource: chapellibrary.org.  Many items that can be downloaded for your encouragement and prayer both as an individual, for your ministry, and those whom you serve.  Folk DO like to read; especially at times when they grow tired of gazing into a screen.  Sometimes, turning pages is great therapy!
