What Does it Mean to Know the Truth

The big problem is that we as a human attempt to approach God on the level of human standards and the way we think and do things. But God is not flesh, and he's without our limitations. God's way of thinking and doing is in a class all of his own. God can do things that we are unable to register in our thinking; our minds are unable to process because there is no knowledge; at the least, no experience is known to man.

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.

9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. (Isaiah 55:8-9).

Now unto him, that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, (Ephesians 3:20).

Can we calculate what it means to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think? No. No, because we lack the knowledge, and there is no way for us to know outside of God revealing it to us. With the revelation of the will of God comes the act to perform his will. on God's level. It all sounds complicated, but all things possible with God; what's impossible with men, God does.

Some will come face to face with the truth and because what they see does not calculate in human standards they walk away to continue as they were.

But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. (James 1:25).

The perfect law of liberty is the written word of God, and when we look into the word of God it's as if we are looking in a mirror. We see ourselves. If it's the perfect law of liberty and we see three things. We see ourselves, we see that we are free, and we see ourselves as free people. We are free from the sin and error of mortality. But we walk away and forget who we are. Our minds are not holding the knowledge of the truth. Our mind is holding to what it knows of the man of sin. We must look away from the old in order to see the new. Do we understand what it means to be a child of God because it is who we are? I do not have any hype for you, but I do have the truth.

If You Continue in My Word

As he spake these words, many believed on him.

31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; (John 8:30-31).

To know the truth, we must remain in the word of our Lord. The word that's translated 'remains.' has the same meaning as the word 'abide.' To abide is a fixed position that we come to and stay there; every action comes from this place where we abide.

Walking as he walks,

And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; in him is no sin.

Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. (John 3:5-6).

He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked. (John 2:6).

We know we are abiding in him when we walk as he walks; His walk is without error. We are walking as he walks when the error of the flesh is no longer in our action. Remember, we speak of acting according to God. Every act that we put forth must exemplify God. That is to say; every act is an act of God. We are the children of God and we walk as he walks. When we understand and enter our place of freedom we will never concern ourselves with any such thing as the coronavirus. None of these things will near our dwelling. The same Spirit that's in Jesus is in us now.

Thus, when Jesus speaks of the truth, setting us free he's talking about freedom from sin or the error of human flesh. We must understand that apart from God, every act of we as men fall short of the glory of God. When we use the word good, we think in line with human standards, we say that's good, or she did a good job; they are good people, but the word of God is the standard. Come, Come up here, says the Lord.

We are not speaking of what's possible with men, but God. We are not walking in the freedom that Jesus speaks of until we are free from all human error. When we are free, we will walk as he walks and sin not. In fact, according to Jesus, we will walk on a higher level than what he did when on the earth; greater works than these he said.

As we continue to read within the context of John the eight chapter, we see what Jesus speaks of; he's talking about freedom from every single act of error. When we walk circumspectly there will be no hurt.

He That Commits Sin

Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.

35 And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever. (John 8:34-35).

In verse thirty-four, Jesus said, whoever commits sin is the servant of sin. The Greek word translated 'commit' here means a single act. In the past, because we have view the scripture according to human standards, and capacity, and as a result, we have made the word to say what it doesn't say.

The experts told us that word commit means to practice, but that is not so—their reason for reporting that is due to human reasoning. The men looking at their experience with sin, and because of their lack of understanding, they concluded that it could not be saying what it appears to say; because if it does, then none of us are the children of God.

He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose, the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. (1 John 3:8-10).

The works of the devil are acts of error. It's not possible for the seed of God to commit a single act of error. What threw them off are the words 'born of God.'

The word translated 'born' does not speak of bringing forth from the womb; 'born' talks about the conception of the seed that's conceived in the womb; ever before that seed appears, it is the seed of the parent. Even before our appearance, we are the seed of God. When the activity comes from the seed, there will be no error. You look at yourself and you do not look like God, but do not let that throw you off because you are as he says you are.

There is a distinction between the acts of the flesh and the actions of the Spirit. The actions of the Spirit are the acts that come from the seed produced by the Spirit of God. We are born of the Spirit and the word.

Thus, what the scripture is saying is that when we are conceived of God, the seed of God will not do a single act of error; he will live an error-free life; that is, he will walk as Jesus walks. The actions that we see in the present are not the actions of the seed of God. But the acts of the old man of the flesh; we are yet walking after the flesh. God knows you only as his seed, but we must come to know as we are known.

If you have been taking notes, you would have noticed that I am not giving you my word but the word of God; I have only shown you what the scripture says, In the gospel of John what John witnessed during his time with Jesus confirmed in first John by the Holy Spirit. To be free is to be free from sin. It's to walk as Jesus walks as we abide in the words of Jesus, and His word abides in us.

Abides Not in the House

Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.

35 And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever. (John 8:34-35).

If we do a single act of sin, we are acting as the servant of sin, and the servant does not abide in the house. The house is the place of abode; it is the place where we abide. In this righteous dwelling; acts of righteousness are the only acts. We have not arrived at this place as of now. We need to come to the knowledge of this truth.

Abiding Forever

The Son or seed of God stays in his abode and will never depart from this place. The Son or seed of God is free; no longer a captive to the error of the flesh, He died to sin.

Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so, we also should walk in newness of life.

For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall also be in the likeness of his resurrection:

Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. (Romans 6:4-6).

As long as we see sin in our view we are yet walking as slaves, and sin and death will continue to dominate us. For he who the Son sets free is free in his deeds. The victory is in our walk. Come, let us go there together.
