How Shall We Be Then Addressed?

Resting in His presence are those His faithful friends,

Who have been faithful to the Lord, even until the end.

And when they look down to see

How it has all impacted,

Is God still receiving the glory in their works?

Or His presence may now have departed?

Happy or sad they may be

After they see what’s being done,

Have the horizons widened or shrunk

From what they had begun

Has faith lost all its meaning?

As the people are now bent on sinning,

Have they no fear of eternity,

Do they disbelieve its certainty?

Or has revival now struck?

Even as a result of what they’d prayed?

Are lost souls now being saved to Christ?

Are they led home all who to sin were strayed?

Little does now it matters for them as they’re safe

In the arms of the Savior now as safely they do rest,

While on earth they had the means to glorify God,

With all they could they have done their best.

One day we too will cross this mortal life,

To stand before His throne,

How shall we be then addressed?

As a stranger or as His own?

We too will have an opportunity,

To look and to see,

How it has all impacted,

Did our life Lord glorify Thee?
