For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. John 1:17 NIV

We view in this verse three different contrasts. First, we see the contrast of the communicator. Moses is man, but Jesus Christ is God in the form of human. The second contrast is the method of communication. Moses gave the people the commandments from God the Father. Blessings came and come to us through Jesus Christ. The third contrast is the law versus grace and truth. Although law is needed, so much more grace and truth are needed. I can’t much think of one not seeking blessings coming from grace. Truth is what is sought by the soul, and it can only be found in Jesus Christ.

Today, are we one who seeks from man or do we seek from God? This depends upon the desires of our heart. For what do we live? Do we seek glory for ourselves, or do we seek glory for God, who provides all that we need? May we seek the only truth which exists, that which is Jesus Christ!
