John testified concerning Him. He cried out, saying, “This is He of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me has surpassed me because He was before me.’” John 1:15 NIV

The scene is now where John the Baptizer is preaching while baptizing. Christ must have made an initial appearance at which John proclaims about Him that although He was younger in age by six months and had begun His public ministry after that of John, He existed long before the Baptizer was conceived. Here he speaks of the divinity of Christ, though almost all would not have understood such. Yes, Christ, in His divinity far exceeds that of all humans. The Baptizer acknowledged it 2000 years ago and we acknowledge such today.
