He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe. John 1:7 NIV
John came to bear witness to the Light. To convince all that through Christ all might believe was a tall order, one though from which the Baptist did not back down. John wanted all to know that salvation only comes through belief in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Man’s heart is full of the evil of darkness and the Light was coming which would conquer the darkness.
As we go forth to spread the Good News may we keep in mind the mission of the first witness to the people of his time about the coming Messiah. Share the Good News with conviction!
