In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. John 1:4 NIV
The first words of this verse may also be said to say that through Him (the Word) is life, for anyone without Christ in their life has not true life. Their life would purely be an earthly existence, nothing more. The Light brings peace and joy to the soul as the soul seeks after truth. Only through the Light may one be made righteous.
Notice the verse says the life was light. Before the beginning the Word, the life was already light. Christ has always been the same since before creation until now and forever to come. We as humans change, but God never changes. We can always trust God, for His faithfulness endures forever. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever!
