If a lie is only printed often enough, it becomes a quasi-truth, and if such a truth is repeated often enough, it becomes an article of belief, a dogma, and men will die for it.

2nd Thess.2:11,12 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Paul, writing to the Thessalonians from Greece around AD 50, is reassuring them in the keeping of the faith, regardless of the persecutions from the Jewish populace. Paul, after establishing the church in Thessalonica had to leave sooner than he wanted, due to the major, and dangerous opposition from those believing this Jesus was a threat to Judaism. About a year later, Paul sent Timothy back to check on the new church. and Timothy found they were still staunchly standing firm in the faith to the gospel.

We as Christians should take this as an example of standing firm in the true faith and obedience to God, regardless of the opposition and persecutions we have to endure, but there are those who have, and will change Gods instructions to suit their agenda, the politically correct crowds, and the modern cultural trends so as not to be different or offend, but to conform to what others consider modern and normal.

Hitler’s propaganda chief Goebbels boasted of the Isa Blagden phrase many times, that if you “Tell a Lie Long Enough and Often enough it will be believed as the truth”, and it is, therefore almost an impossibility to convince those accepting this lie, of the real truth, so goes modern society and the Christian culture.

Jesus rebuked the Jewish people and their religious leaders for following the traditions and commandments of men; Mark 7:6-9 He answered and said unto them, well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, this people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. (Isa 29:13 Matt 15:8) 7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. (Isa 29:13 Matt 15:9) 8 For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do. 9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.

The more things change the more they remain the same. Today you cannot tell the believer (Christian), from the non-believer. Jesus said you would know them by their fruits; well, actions speak louder than words and the actions of today’s society, which claim to be mostly Christian, speak volumes of how accurate Jesus was in rebuking the religious populace of His day, the implications of today’s Christian culture, and, maybe, you? This passage of scripture is so right on target with today’s Christians.

We keep God in the trunk as we cruise through this world gorging on fleshly pleasures and materialistic obsessions. We neglect, and hide God until we are in a time of need, we blame Him for all the evil in the world, the hardships we are subjected to, loss of a dear loved one, some even deny His existence, but, His is the first name called when danger is evident.

Most believe that because they prayed a little prayer and were baptized, that they are now bound for heaven regardless of how they live their lives. They make their presence known once a week drop a few coins in the plate and it’s back to business as usual, I’m good to go for another week.

WHAT A DECEPTION!

Isaiah 1:15-20 15 And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.16 Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; 17 Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. 19 If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: 20 But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

Folks, it is my earnest plea to each one reading this, put down the i-pads, throw out the television, put a strict limit on your social chatting, pick up God’s letter of instructions for us to live by, begin reading and studying it daily, start a daily family devotional with God’s word and prayer, ask the Holy Spirit to guide you in the right paths, for strength to fight those sinful urges, that we all face daily.

Paul said “I die daily” (1st Corinthians 15:1). Search for a Bible group which believes the word of God, practices it, and teaches it according to the true word of God and not what a preacher, teacher, theologian, denomination or professor has said. There is so much deception in the churches today, that they bare little resemblance to the early Christian Church.

God hears the prayers of those who pray in sincerity and not in ritual. God knows your heart and He will respond to those truly seeking His face.

Jeremiah 29:12-13 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. 13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

Psalm 119:10,11 10 With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments. 11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
