Death Conviction Not Enough

Then some began to spit at him; they blindfolded him, struck him with their fists, and said, “Prophesy!” And the guards took him and beat him. Mark 14:65 NIV

The ire within those gathered was so intensified that they were not satisfied with only Christ’s conviction and death sentence. So, they resort to spitting in His face, blind folding Him and hitting Him with their fists. Even the Roman soldiers took Him and beat Him. All this though was prophesied by Christ. It all had to happen to Him. It was part of the suffering which He had to endure.

What happens when we face suffering or persecution in life? Do we react adversely or do we reflect upon the suffering which Jesus endured on our behalf? He had the power to avoid all this suffering, yet lovingly He accepted it all for the plan of salvation. Cannot we endure suffering and persecution as followers of Him? Always keep your eyes focused on Jesus!

Expressed with the right descriptions of what it is to suffer for another (others) with all around you voicing: "L'mitah" (to death. Indeed, how will we standup to suffering in the name of Christ. Rolland, you make us think.
