“Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child. Children will rebel against their parents and have them put to death. Everyone will hate you because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.” Mark 13:12-13 NIV

Most people cherish the thought of family and close friends. We yearn to be close to those who are dear to us. Yet, our utmost commitment must be to God and loving and servicing Him. This may cause those we love to turn away from us. Why would they do so? Don’t they understand that we care about their eternal fate? Each of us has to make the choice in life to follow Christ or to live in the ways of this world. We cannot have both ways. We must pray for all that they may come to see the true light of this world, Jesus Christ. He is the only way to salvation. Pray always for the souls of the lost. God can change one who has an open heart. Our job is to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and to pray for both believers and non-believers. Do not allow yourself to be distracted from that to which you have been called.
