Jesus replied, “Are you not in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God? When the dead rise, they will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven. Now about the dead rising—have you not read in the Book of Moses, in the account of the burning bush, how God said to him, ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? He is not the God of the dead, but of the living. You are badly mistaken!” Mark 12:24-27 NIV
Herein Jesus does not condemn the Sadducees. What He does tell them though is that they are badly mistaken in their belief. Here we have a small glimpse into life after resurrection for believers. We will not live as we do on earth. It says we will be like the angels in heaven. Angels are dedicated to God, loving Him and serving Him, doing that which is asked of them. Yes, life after death shall be nothing like that which we face now. There shall be no evil in heaven, no sickness. Instead the glory of the Almighty God shall radiate everywhere and within each and every believer. At this time we shall truly live, live beyond anything which we can now possibly believe. How can I be so confident of this? It is so because God is the God of the living and not the dead.
