No Anxiety

Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God.  (Philippians 4:6)

     This is a powerful verse and we need to break it down into sections.  This first part tells us something very important.  It shows us how to live our lives. 

     Often we can let the concerns and worries of our lives weigh us down.  We may be worried about our kids, job, or even self-conscience of ourselves.  There is a whole disease about anxiety.  Worry and anxiety can cause stress which in turn can harm us physically, emotionally, spiritually, and mentally.  If we let the cares of this world weigh us down, we become more focused on our situations than on God.  When we truly trust God and cast our cares on Him we can live a life free of anxiety and worry.

     This does not mean that we will never have any problems.  It simply means that when we do, we will not be overwhelmed by them, because we have put Christ at the center of our lives.  We can trust in Him to lead and guide us into situations where we give our circumstances over to God and He will give us His peace.

     Worry and anxiety have no place in our lives when we turn our problems over to God.  He is the only One who can take those problems and give us perfect peace in return. 

Lord, help me to cast my cares on You today.  Help me let anxiety and worry have no place in my life.  Thank You for Your peace right now.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
