Now I will get on, the life's tread-mill
and go on and walk it through
I'll deal in what is laid before me
this is what I will do

For I've had my share of many rejections
and will probably meet some more
Not counting in, those few put-downs
so it is hard to keep score

But I found one day' saying it's ok;
I know what I have in me
And I pulled it out with faith in front
and it did help me to see

That life has taught me a few lessons
that everything depends on me
So who's the boss, and who's in control?
to have the say, what is to be

Even God says to pick one to choose
and I chose the one to live
In no matter what comes, just tip toe through
and be someone who can give

So let rejections, hardships, perils and woes
let them line-up whatever be the case
I've found a remedy, humor with harmony
for this, on-going, race

There will be knifes in the back, bullets in front
and even arrows in my side
Bombs bursting in the air above my head
but I will not run and hide

Because things can work out for the good
although it may look bad
And in knowing this one must tread on
so rejoice and don't be sad

Anybody can shout when it's all going well
and be hitting every number
And prize's coming in from every angle
but to me that is a bummer

This doesn't help to get to the next level
and your camp always in top shape
For we got to go through a few rough spots
so it's left no room to escape

So get on the tread-mill, or grab a skateboard
either one will work real fine
If it's spiritual battles, or life's trials
still got to have a right mind
