There Is A Difference

But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us.” “ ‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.” Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!” Mark 9:22b-24 NIV

This man was on the verge. He truly wanted to believe that anything was possible, yet something was blocking him. What could that be? I believe it was doubt and submission. When doubt creeps in the way, faith is crippled and belief is not there. Oh sure, the desire might be present, but the belief is not. For there to be belief, there must also be submission. As long as we hold on to control, how can we believe in the power of Almighty God?

“Help me overcome my lack of belief.” Submit your life totally to Christ and ask Him to remove doubt from your mind, heart, and soul. Then watch as His awesome power is released within the one who truly believes.
