BROKEN
Broken
Pieces of myself scattered across my soul’s sod
Fragmented – bloodied – recognizable only to God.
Outwardly
Little seemed different to those passing me by
But heaven knew – and gathered each lone anguished cry.
Forsaken
By earthly love, my bruised self played along
And couldn’t hear Heaven’s whisper – “The voices, they’re wrong.”
Whispers
New, kept flooding this heart’s wounded clay
Bearing ointments of healing – new hope, day by day.
Loved
By the Savior who knew well my own pain
Who walked Calvary’s hill – my soul’s ransom to gain.
Cherished
Those shards - a once shattered life that’d gone wrong
Now restored, in this clay birthed a glorious new song.
Broken
No more –I’ve a life now that’s brand new
Borne on the wings of a Love that stands True.

Just beautiful, DeAnna. Exquisitely worded. The stanza where you talk about how outwardly people passing you by couldn't see your pain really hit me. So true. And the conclusion was perfect. God bless, you have a mighty gift!
