Have You Seen The Kingdom?

And he said to them, “Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see that the kingdom of God has come with power.” Mark 9:1 NIV

Is this statement by Christ a follow up to His just completed mentioning of carrying one’s cross daily, not being ashamed of Him, or is it a prelude to His transfiguration. Mark’s gospel seems to give the most credence to the later.

Have you seen the power of God’s kingdom? If your answer is no, I might suggest that you are trying to find the kingdom with your physical eyes. Since we must worship God in spirit, I might suggest using spiritual eyes and your heart to see the kingdom. Ah, that is much better! It is amazing to see the power of God at work. He asks us to help in advancing the kingdom! What an honor and a true blessing this is to those of us who believe in Jesus Christ. We catch a glimpse of what is forthcoming when we depart this evil world. Keep reading God’s word. Share His message with those you meet. Believe He is always there to guide you through the indwelling Holy Spirit.

This is of great importance. It frames an increasing need to expand our spiritual world view. Our vision, decisions and actions need to be based more upon a biblical foundation and a good deal less upon the thoughts of the worldly.
