Sharing Christ With Others

As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed begged to go with him. Jesus did not let him, but said, “Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.” So the man went away and began to tell in the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him. How does one share Jesus Christ with others? Below are four ways to share Christ.

First, share from the Bible. The Heavenly Father guided His people, the Israelites through the desert for forty years. He took them out of slavery in Egypt and they finally settled in the land He had meant for them to live in. Share about the prophets who spoke of the coming of a Messiah. Definitely share from the life of Christ, His teachings, His sacrifice on our behalf, His death, resurrection and ascension. Share the words of the disciples who carried out the message of Christ. People must hear the word of God.

Secondly, we can and should often pray for souls, both those that are lost and those who belong to the Lord. Prayer is a crucial part to the life of a Christian.

Next, our actions and attitudes are very important. A Christian, by definition lives a life which is Christ like. Sure, we do sin and fall short, but we know that our Master waits for us to return to Him with a repentant heart. Don’t expect people to truly listen to your message of Christ if your actions reflect a different life style.

Finally, you can and should share what Christ has done for you. People want to see beyond just the words you speak about Christ. They want to know how Christ has changed your life. Testimonies can be quite powerful in sharing about Christ. When you share be sure to let those hearing know that it is God’s love, mercy, and compassion which changed you. It was not based on what you did. Your part was the acceptance of the offer which Christ lovingly made to you.

There are other thoughts that you might have about sharing Christ with others. Just go ahead and share. This is the message which must be shared as the fields are ripe. Time is short. Share Christ with those you meet!
