The Road Welcomed Us Back

The road stood at the same point
It covered the same long strait
We took a break from its routine path
To look into matters of revival of life.

The road waited to hear our footsteps
It longed for our presence again
To grace it’s lines and smooth surface
It missed us a lot in our absence.

The day we returned at last
The road eagerly welcomed us back
We signed the road once more
With our elated eyes and ardent look.

The road jumped in delight to see 
That we had not deterred from its route
We had held close to the promise of its moments
As it embraced us tight once more as before.

The road regained its tranquil posture
After we had passed through it 
It came afresh as the watery rain
A new drop through look inviting time.

The road knew now that we would not abandon 
The lane that our heart and soul needs to travel through
The gateway to a Heaven that only we could comprehend
And enjoy at every moment in life.
