My Real Treasure

I may not be able to venture into the grandest of places

Which may be reserved for the opulent and the elite faces,

Yet in my own prayer room, the most comfortable I will ever be,

Where the Grandest of all (my Lord God), on my knees I always do see

Often I feel discouraged for my limited resources to excel and learn,

The knowledge the world has to offer to those who much do earn,

Yet the light of the Gospel that blessedly permeates my soul every time I read,

Leisurely Thy grace has offered and nothing better I could ever need

All the pleasures the world has to offer, when many take pride to possess,

Discontent still they remain and their souls are constantly at unrest,

In Thy presence alone I’ll have fullness of joy, and in Thy right hand forever my pleasures,

My reason of hope, joy and solace, The Lord my God forever will be my real treasure.
