I often compare rulers of Israel who are mentioned in the Old Testament to leaders America has had. I always compare King Ahab and Queen Jezebel, who we read about in 1 and 2 Kings, to the Clintons, but after some observation, I feel like their ways can easily be compared to the ways of the entire Democratic Party. One specific way they are alike is their aim to replace godliness with ungodliness. Jezebel, a Phoenician princess, moved to Israel when she married Ahab, and she brought her religion, worship of false gods, the Baals, with her. Baal worship involved child sacrifice---burning kids alive to appease the Baals--and all kinds of sexually immoral practices---everything the Lord, the One True God, forbids. Jezebel systematically tried to eliminate the worship of the Lord and force all of Israel into Baal worship. She went so far as to order the wholesale slaughter of all of the prophets of the Lord, the One True God, and replace His prophets with the prophets of the Baals. Nowadays, Democrats try to keep the Bible and Nativity Scenes out of public places and intimidate us Christians to keep us from speaking up so that they can promote political correctness, a more modern type of killing infants known as abortion, and the LGBTQ agenda---everything the Bible says is wrong. I find a lot of reassurance in 1 Kings 18. Elijah, one of the surviving prophets of the Lord, the One True God, was used by th Lord in His plan to bring Israel back to Him when he had contest against the prophets of the Baals and proved the Lord is God. This gives me confidence that God is stronger than corrupt leaders. No matter how corrupt earthly leaders are, God will always win.
