Sabbath 6/8/19 Alfred Station Seventh Day Baptist Minister Don G. (Mem. Bd.) Sermon “Following the Lord Fully” Joshua 14:6-14, Numbers 13:30

In John 3:16 it says whosoever believeth in Christ shall not perish but have everlasting life. It says believe and not just know. God wants you on His team. Anybody can be on God’s team. He takes anyone: killers, hookers, tax men, fishermen etc. etc. Anybody!

We should strive to be and do three things:

1)      Be a Saint and Not an Aint:   A saint is a believer in Jesus Christ. An Aint is one who is a non-believer in Jesus.

 2)      Invest in Eternity Because Life is Short:   We don’t know when our life will end so invest in eternity by having a relationship with Jesus. Life on this earth is brief. Our earthly bodies are tents for our soul to live in while on earth. Take care of your body as if you will live forever. Take care of your soul as if you will die tomorrow. Proverbs says “In all thy ways acknowledge God and He will direct your paths”. Read God’s Word and be available for God to use you. No task is too small or too great if it is sent by God.

 3)      Wholly Follow the Lord:   Numbers 13:30- Caleb wants to go take the Promised Land because God is with them. God will defeat the giants in the land. Caleb said they would defeat them because of God’s power.   Forty five years later Joshua and Caleb are reminiscing and remembering the old days. Caleb wants the land that was promised to him. He says he is able in his 80’s to take the land because God has kept him strong. Caleb’s belief in God fulfilling His promise has not stopped. He believed in God and wholly followed God. Caleb wholly, fully followed the Lord his God. He was strong and enthusiastic for the Lord. Be like Caleb and wholly, fully follow the Lord God Almighty.
