Psalms 27:14 - Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.
I remember in the Army we always had to hurry up just to wait. I remember sometimes we just waited there for hours sitting on our duffel bags. We would be waiting for the train or the truck to take us to our destination. Waiting in the Army is something the Army expects from you because you must be ready at all times for whatever comes up.
Waiting on the Lord may be one of the most difficult aspects of our Christian life. Waiting is not something that we like. We spent a lot of our time in life waiting. We have to wait in line in the grocery store, the gas station and the bank, and especially in the doctor’s office it seems like most places where we go we have to wait. But we live in a fast-paced culture that demands everything now. That’s one reason why waiting on God is difficult.
We don’t really like waiting for anything we want it instantly because we like instant gratification. When we pray for our needs, we want God to respond right away. We pray for healing and we want instant heating. So what does it mean to wait on the Lord? We live in this world of darkness but we belong to the world of light. But as long as we are in this world we must abide by its rules and regulations. We must work, pay our bills, and our debts. We may get ourselves in a bind and start crying out to God to hurry up to help us, but sometimes it seems that God does not hear us.
God is always with us and we must remember that we are in Christ and Christ is in us so what is holding up God with his answer to our question if he is so close to us. He is waiting for you, when the Lord says wait on him it does not mean to stop whatever we are doing sit down and wait. We must continue on with our daily life knowing that God is going to answer our prayers we must have faith.
When Daniel prayed the Lord answered right away, but the angel delivering the message said that he was detained by the Prince of Persia. So it might be with your requests our adversary has someone to intercept your answer.
Waiting on God is not only difficult; sometimes it seems impossible. But in waiting on God, we find our strength renewed. Waiting upon the Lord means to “stand fast” and “press forward” in faith, “having a perfect brightness of hope”
Waiting on the Lord is the sum of depending on God and subjecting our will to His terms and timing. Waiting always includes time and patience. James 1:4 says, "Let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing." This steadfastness is waiting.
In the Bible, waiting often includes a hope and a confidence in God—and an expectation that He will act on our behalf in His good timing Paul wrote, "For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God"
Waiting on God is not like waiting in a long line at an amusement park. We aren't waiting around with nothing to do until our desires are finally met. When you’re waiting, you’re not doing nothing. You’re doing the most important something there is. You’re allowing your soul to grow up. If you can’t be still and wait, you can’t become what God created you to be.
The simple fact is, in spite of our modern age and our dislike for waiting, life is full of waiting. And one of the most challenging exhortations of Scripture is “Wait.” But waiting, despite our impatience and our dislike for it, is a vital element in life.
Isaiah 40:31 says to Wait upon the Lord and that’s what we must do, we must learn to just stop second guessing God. The central truth we must learn is to patiently wait on the Lord instead of trying to do everything on our own.
Waiting it’s a hard thing, but sometimes just by waiting you’ll find out the full blessings of the Lord.

Waiting on the Lord certainly can be a challenge, but we must carry on in doing His work as we wait for Him. Thanks for the share. God bless you!
