But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. 1 Corinthians 15:12-14 NIV

The resurrection of the dead is a core belief of Christianity. Christ truly was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father. If Christ died for our sins, but did not rise, then what good would faith be, as life on this earth would be all that we have. No, Christ was raised from death as the first born of those who shall be raised to eternal life through belief in Him. It is so sad that this does not make sense to most people. Why would God have created us to have a finite life? True, our life on this earth is finite, but true glory lies ahead in our eternal life with the Father and the Son. We as Christians know that there is a wonderful life beyond that on this world, a life which can only be truly known when we leave the confines of our mortal body. Then we shall see all that God has prepared for those who love Him. Live your life here for Christ. It is just the beginning of an eternity to be spent with Him!
