Forgiveness

The practice of forgiveness alone can often be difficult depending upon the circumstances. Though we are all aware that God expects us to forgive others, it is often easier thought of then done. I currently battle with forgiving a person who is part of my family in which I see as a person not worthy of my forgiveness. Though my heart desires to please God and elect the right choice, it is difficult for my spirit to consume the choice based on the fact that the person’s actions still reflect unfavorable behavior related to the prior incidents. In my mind I am bitter, but my heart realizes that God forgives us constantly regardless of the unfavorable behavior we often continue to display. Through His spirit of grace he finds forgiveness to replenish us in His eyesight. It is with that same grace that we must seek to forgive. Forgiveness is not so much about the other person as is about us, it helps us to stay focused and replenished in spirit. To forgive is to have the discipline of our Father the creator. Often people’s destructive behaviors and actions hurt them far worst then it could ever damage us, we just happened to be caught in the crossfire. People who seek conflict and seek out to do harm to others have issues that need to be brought to God, and we must forgive them in order to remember them in our prayers. Forgiveness has to be pure and elected entirely by our want to truly forgive another. Forced forgiveness is not considered forgiveness at all and is merely just for “show.”
