To The Real Goal Of Life Actually I’d Been Ignorant

If success be not the way how I had defined

And if it all proves vanity to which I’d been entwined

If to the real goal of life actually I’d been ignorant,

And if what I’d termed as scaling up was actually a descend

And if time be gone and I would have no more

My successful life is actually a failure

All my pride and boasting for all my achievements,

Have now become the perfect reasons of my bereavements,

Until the grave and not beyond I may carry this pride,

And in eternity nothing glorious to behold alongside

The span of time in this life that I did receive

‘I would foolishly waste away’, this I never did perceive

If only I could do something for my soul,              

If only the Kingdom of God alone would have been my goal

Content would I be for this the reason of my pride

In God’s will alone I did always abide

If only to His heart my life’s journey would bring,

A song of praise forever to my King.

Then to eternity I would cross with great delight,

Having kept the faith, finished the race and fought the good fight,

Then laid for me would be the righteousness crown,

Which the Lord Himself shall give and this I’ll never let down

Yet know that this destiny is assured not for me alone,

But for everyone who loves the Sovereign King on the throne.
