Lord help us to be ‘Perfect’ as Thou art.

If only we would appreciate all whom God has given,

If only we would forgive just as we are forgiven

If only love without hypocrisy is what we would offer

‘Faithful’ shall we be called and no more a ‘Scoffer’

The world seeks love which is true and pure

An ointment it is for all malady to cure    

A love like which on the cross was revealed

Lord, ‘By Thy stripes we are perfectly healed’

Deep in Your heart is the essence of grace,

An embodiment of love and peace Thou art,

If only we who are called by Thy name,

Would imitate Thy ways with a sincere heart

All the vices we see, Lord none can be found in Thee

For Your very being refutes all its claim,

If only we too could find victory over them,

Using the given authority ‘in Jesus name’.

Bring us O Lord to the paths You desire,

And help us to walk in them with a perfect heart,

Let us in this world be Ambassadors of Christ,

Lord help us to be ‘Perfect’ as Thou art.
